Anna Log is the self-appointed Chief Archivist at the Bureau of Canine Mechanical Standards, a fictional 1950s agency founded to document dogs as the gloriously defective industrial machinery they truly are.
Every manual in this archive treats a breed as a malfunctioning piece of vintage equipment: deadpan operating instructions, patent style illustrations, and field tested specifications no manufacturer would ever stand behind. The findings are consistent across all units tested. Nothing is broken. It simply shipped this way.
Filed to date: French Bulldog, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, and Dachshund. Four more units, Labrador Retriever, Pomeranian, Poodle, and Beagle, remain pending intake.
When not cataloguing factory installed defects, the Archivist can be found offline in British Columbia, Canada, tending a garden, planting fruit trees, and otherwise avoiding further paperwork.
